South East Leisure (SEL) is thrilled to have won its first award since commencing operations on 1 July 2022, taking out the Health Promotion Award for Heathy Eating within Recreation Facilities.
The awards were held by Monash Health and SEL has been recognised for their important work in improving the education, and provision of healthier choices across the group’s four facilities.
SEL’s General Manager Commercial and Community Partnerships, Jake Da Silva, said this has been a key focus for SEL during establishment and the first four months of operations.
“We understand that our facilities play a vital role in building healthy communities and to see our efforts in these areas recognised by the industry is a great reward”
SEL was recognised for embedding healthy choices through a joint agreement with Monash Health and City of Greater Dandenong, initiating menu assessment of SEL’s facilities and hosting a range of events designed to educate the Dandenong community on Healthy Eating.
SEL would like to acknowledge the other two finalists and the work that they are completing to promote heathy eating throughout the South East; YMCA Victoria – Casey Stadium and Aligned Leisure – Cardinia Life.
