Kirstan Corben is well known for her work in corporate
governance and executive leadership across the health, community and sport
sectors within Victoria.
Kirstan holds a number of Board roles in addition to her
work with South East Leisure. She is the
Chair of Better Health Network, a leading community health service in Melbourne,
and a recent three-way amalgamation between Star Health, Connect Health and
Community, and Central Bayside Community Health Services. She is also a Director of South Eastern
Melbourne Primary Health Network, a partner of the Australian Government in
strengthening general practice and primary health care for people across the south
east of Melbourne.
Professionally, Kirstan has an extensive career in the
health sector commencing as a clinician and evolving to health promotion,
preventative health care and population health.
She enjoyed a highly successful 16 years at Alfred Health including
numerous world-first achievements and associated international
recognition. She held Executive
leadership roles with VicHealth, Victorian Government and St Kida Football
Club. In partnership with the Australian
Football League, Kirstan led the establishment of the Danny Frawley Centre an
ambitious initiative aiming to drive major improvements in mental health and
fitness among athletes and community.
Kirstan established DFC Community Ltd as a health promotion charity and
held the position of inaugural CEO and Executive Director.
Kirstan loves to drive health and social impact for local
communities.
Malak is a senior healthcare executive with over 25 years of national and international leadership experience in strategic, operational and commercial management, business development, project management, marketing and communication in the public and private, for-profit and not-for-profit health sectors.
Malak is currently the CEO and Managing Director of MediHealth Partners Pty Ltd consulting business. She previously held positions as Chief Strategy, Business and Development at Northern Health, Executive Director of Business Development and Infrastructure at St Vincent’s Health Australia and Private Hospital CEO with Healthe Care Australia.
With her clinical background and business acumen, Malak brought major and lasting development and partnership opportunities across many industries to drive better health outcomes including: primary care, diagnostic and interventional specialties, hospitals, universities and translational research.
Malak is also the Chair of CrimCheck Board of Directors, Vice Chair of South East Volunteers Board, Chair of the National ACU Peter Faber Business School Advisory Council, Chair of the Master of Health Administration Advisory Committee at La Trobe University and a founding member and former Board Secretary of the Australian Lebanese Medical Association.
Malak holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from RMIT and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors
Mick is a highly experienced executive having recently completed a long career spanning 37 years in local government with the final 27 of them as Director Corporate Services across Campaspe, Surf-Coast, Knox and Greater Dandenong Councils. With a Finance background and a qualified CPA, Mick has been regarded as an industry leader in strategic financial planning within local government. In addition to this qualification, Mick further holds an MBA and has completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors course.
Since commencing his consulting business, Mick has been appointed to the Audit and Risk Committees of Bayside City Council and the Shire of West Wimmera and has recently worked with both Kingston City Council and Boroondara City Council. Mick is also a voluntary Director of Community Kinders Plus, a company that manages over 20 kindergartens in Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula on behalf of those Councils.
Whilst the company limited by guarantee model in local government is still relatively new, Mick has significant experience in this space having been part of the establishment of Dandenong Market Pty Ltd in 2012 and sitting on this company Board for the following nine years as a Shareholder representative. This involved the establishment of the legal framework, appointment of the Board and the eventual decision to move the Market from a contract management arrangement to an in-house managed facility with company staff.
Mick has a keen interest in the leisure industry having completed three Ironman events and is an avid swimmer in both pools and open water.
Tim is a seasoned professional with 30 years of experience in retail and marketing across various sectors, including specialty and big-box retail. He is currently the General Manager of Tool Kit Depot, where he leverages his extensive knowledge to drive growth and innovation.
Throughout his career, Tim has contributed significantly to several national retail businesses. Notably, he served as the CEO of the Total Tools franchise, where he successfully executed a major growth program. Tim holds an MBA and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

John Nguyen is a purpose-driven and customer-centric finance and risk executive who is passionate about making a genuine impact. He does this by leveraging expertise in financial and risk management, assurance, governance, compliance and large program execution.
John has over 25 years of professional services and corporate sector experience. John’s professional services career has taken him from Melbourne, New York, London, Singapore, Jakarta and Canberra where he worked with banking, financial services and public sector clients to solve complex and challenging issues. He was a former partner at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and Ernst & Young and held senior roles at ANZ Bank and KPMG.
John has extensive experience advising public and private sector clients in the areas of financial and risk management, governance and accountability, strategic management and large program delivery.
John is on the board of Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust. He is the Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee at the City of Casey and Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Change. He was previously a member of the Audit Committee of the National Gallery of Australia and was on the boards of Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation, Dental Health Services Victoria and FebFast.
Caroline Patrick is an experienced executive and non-executive director with 25 years’ experience in marketing, communications and engagement in complex and highly regulated sectors.
Caroline is currently the Group Manager, Marketing, Communications and Engagement at South East Water, leading a broad portfolio of customer and community engagement.
Throughout her career, Caroline has contributed to a number of customer focused organisations across the public and private sectors and been recognised for her contribution; awarded the Certified Practising Marketer of the Year Award by the Australian Marketing Institute and is a Chief Executive Women Scholar.
Caroline holds a BA (Hons) in Marketing, an MBA, is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has post graduate certifications from Harvard Business School and The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
